658 KIIT Students Picked Up By Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Campus Placement
KIIT Sets Campus Placement Record in Eastern Region

KIIT University’s strong brand continues to charm India’s top recruiters with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) picking up a whopping 658 students in the campus placement on 15th December 2010, while as many as 702 students bagged job offers from Tata Group. The selected students, who would be passing out in 2011, belong to B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA streams of the University. Job offer to so many students by a single company in campus placement on a single day is a record in Eastern India.

Recruiters from the Indian IT behemoth, who conducted the campus placement, were overwhelmed with the students’ profile. KIIT students fared extremely well with 658 of 705 students who went through the selection process making it to the final list. Over the years, KIIT University has emerged as the favourite recruiting ground for Tata Group. Tata Power and Tata Cummins are other companies of the group that offered jobs to KIIT students.

In addition to Tata Group, ten core companies including Shapoorji Pallonji, L&T ECC, IVRCL, TATA Steel, Soma Infrastructure, Tega Industries and TVS Motors participated in KIIT campus placement, offering jobs to 250 students of technology stream. Total 100 students from School of Computer Application (MCA) have already being placed. Similarly, with about 100 students already placed in management stream, KIIT University is all set to record cent percent placement in yet another year.

It is just the start of placement season at KIIT and most of the students of 2011 passing out batch are placed, said Shri N. V. Shastry, Dy Director - Placement, KIIT University, while expressing confidence that all the students would be placed in coming weeks.

Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and Mr. Prithwish Ray, GM and Regional HR Head (East), TCS expressed happiness at the selection of so many students (658) by TCS. Consistent high level performance and best exposure and academic facility provided to the students have contributed to excellence in campus placement year after year, Dr. Samanta said.
