Biogas Development and Training Centre (BDTC)

BDTC is established at School of Biotechnology in April 2009, supported by Ministry of New and renewable energy (MNRE), Govt. of India. The centre is running with a broad objective to provide technical services and trainings for biogas in Odisha and for Implementation & awareness creation of the programme.

The programme has the following objectives:

  • To provide management and technical training programmes of biogas plants and its use for different target categories.
  • To organize trainers training courses, construction-cum-maintenance training courses.
  • Development of Entrepreneurship and training manual for biogas plants.
  • To develop, publish and disseminate technical information/ literature and video films for public awareness creation.
  • To organize women’s training to create awareness & provide information and demonstration on operation & maintenance of Biogas plants.
  • Development of portable biogas plants.
  • To develop, test and evaluate biogas plants.
  • Study/survey of old and new biogas plants.
  • To set up laboratory for research & development works.
  • To develop, test and evaluate cheaper and efficient models of bio gas.
  • To provide maintenance servicing report.
