Mechanical beat Information Technology (IT) by four wickets to win the Santosh Memorial Inter-Branch Cricket Tournament of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology at KIIT campus on 24th Mar 2007. Altogether seven branches participated in the tournament.

Mechanical engineering branch bag the Santosh Memorial Trophy. Also present at the award ceremony are Chancellor of KIIT University, Dr. A. Samanta, Vice Chancellor, Prof. S. C. De Sarkar, Registrar Dr. R. N. Ray and Team Leader Mr. L.C.Amarnathan.

Former Indian pace bowler Debasis Mohanty, who attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest receiving a memento from Chancellor KIIT University, Dr. A. Samanta. Vice Chancellor, Prof. S. C. De Sarkar looks on.

Amiya Samal, Divy Swarup Mohanty, Tathagat Rout and Sasikanta Kumar (all IT Branch) were awarded as Man of the Match, Best Bowler and Best Fielder respectively, Sujit Pradhan and Srijit Pattanaik (both Mechanical) were awarded as Man of the Series and Best Batsman respectively.
