Prof. Satyendra Patnaik is a Ph.D. in History from Visva-Bharati University. He has 33 years of experience in research, teaching, journalism and academic administration. His past assignments include Reader and Professor, Guwahati University, Assam, Director, Planning & Coordination, KIIT University and Director, School of Tourism & Hospitality Management, KIIT University. He has also been involved as a journalist in publications like ‘The Current’, ‘The Indian Post’ and ‘India Abroad.’ A prolific writer and an avid researcher, Dr. Patnaik has authored five books and over 40 research articles published in national and international journals. His other academic achievements include 25 invited lectures at various national and international level seminars and supervision of five Ph.D. scholars. He is member of professional bodies like Indian History Congress (Life Member), Numismatic Society of India (Life Member), Mythic Society of India, Bangalore and Indian Orientalist Congress. Prof. Patnaik, who writes travelogues as his hobby, is a well-known ‘Ambassador’ of India tourism. His travel features regularly appear in prestigious travel and tourism magazines published from all over the world. He has visited many countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, South Africa, Zimbabwe, UAE, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Europe.
