Campus XI is dedicated to KIIT School of Biotechnology. The foundation stone for the school was laid by Prof. Richard R. Ernst (Nobel Laureate in the field of NMR, 1991). Later the Biotechnology programme was launched in its own campus by Prof. Hans Hengartner (Professor in immunology, University of Zurich, Switzerland) and Prof. Rolf M Zinkernagel (Nobel Laureate in the field of immunology, 1996).
